Dear
Akron Neighbors,Memorial Day weekend means the beginning of summer for most of us. Its also when we remember our family members past, and in a special way, we honor those who have served our country in uniform. This year, I hope you will join me in another tradition, which we started in 2007, NEIGHBORS DAY. Its an idea that I saw working in Europe where-during the last week of May - residents throughout England, France, Germany, and other countries host NEIGHBORS DAY, bringing them closer together and promoting peaceful living. We are constantly reminded how small our world is. Television pictures fly around the globe instantly. We can know more about whats happening thousands of miles away than we know about whats happening on our own street. NEIGHBORS DAY will help all of us create a real sense of community and make our neighborhoods safer. I hope you will join us. DONALD L. PLUSQUELLIC
